A practice built on relationships, honesty, and dentistry done the right way.
Dr. Andrea Baird has spent ten years doing dentistry the way she believes it should be done: carefully, honestly, and with genuine attention to the person in the chair, not just the teeth. She's been part of the Vernon community since 2017, and the reputation she's built here is one she's proud of — that she's gentle, that she's thorough, and that she'll always tell you the truth about what she's seeing.
As the daughter of a dentist in a small town, she grew up knowing most of her father's patients. They were more than just people who sat in the chair; they were neighbours, family friends, people you'd say hello to on the street.
And it was with this intention to look after the community that she built Aspect Dental. Modern care with state-of-the-art equipment, combined with old-fashioned values.
When the opportunity to take over an established Vernon practice came up, Dr. Baird and her husband pivoted from their original plan to build a brand new office from scratch. The practice they took on had been running for 35 years under the same dentist — well-loved by its patients, but never updated.
What Dr. Baird set out to create was something Vernon didn't really have: a practice that combined the warmth and continuity of a small owner-operated office with the technology and precision that modern dentistry deserves.
That vision shapes everything at Aspect Dental, from the equipment on the floor to the labs she works with. She has pursued additional training in root canal therapy, Invisalign, and Botox and facial aesthetics, and chooses smaller, more careful suppliers at every level. The quality of the work matters, right down to the details patients never see.
We sometimes get asked why we're named Aspect. We like how "aspect," in its basic semantic sense, refers to the perceptible qualities that a person presents to the world, and there's an overlap between two things we care about there: first is how teeth are an important part of presentation, and the second is how we want to present ourselves to you. Aspect is also part of a dentist's jargon, in that it refers to a specific viewing direction of a tooth, which we use to pinpoint location and anatomy. And of course, it's also part of the local vernacular: in the context of vineyards, which are so abundant in the beautiful Okanagan region we live in, aspect refers to the compass direction that a slope faces, which impacts conditions and, inevitably, the quality of the grapes. With so many layers of meaning, Aspect made perfect sense to us as a nod to the locality, industry, and our own goals to serve you well.

At Aspect Dental, you'll see the same familiar faces at every visit. We think that matters. It means we know you, your history, and what makes you comfortable.
And this way, your care builds on itself over time rather than starting over each appointment.
We tell patients what they need to hear. That means clear explanations, honest recommendations, and never suggesting treatment that isn't genuinely warranted. Because informed patients make better decisions, and that's always good for everyone.
You'll see the same dentist and hygienist at every visit. We're people who will get to know your history, your concerns, and your preferences — or your child's — and give you better care than someone who's meeting you for the first time.
Every recommendation we make is grounded in a clinical need. We pre-authorise your insurance before treatment begins so there are no financial surprises. And we will always work with you to find a path forward, whatever your situation.
